How can I upgrade my Jira instance to the latest version?

My Jira instance is currently on v7.3.2 and I wish to upgrade to a more recent version (preferably 8.10.0).  I am on a Community licence.

However, due to staff changes, I do not know who "owns" the account or the process that I need to follow to upgrade.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

It looks like we are hosting this on a server rather than on the cloud.

I have admin rights but as I understand it, any new licence key would be sent to the account owner via my.atlassian and I think the owner has left the organisation. Or have I misunderstood?

Start at https://confluence.atlassian.com/adminjiraserver/upgrading-jira-applications-938846936.html for the technical side

But you are going to need to find the people who "own" the system and have access to it.
