I am using the Jira app, and have created a new sprint. Currently there are two other active sprints so I assume I am able to have a third. However these sprints were started via the website, how can I start a sprint within the app? Is it possible, or do I have to revert to the website to do that - it seems rather unintuitive.

Hi Michael, welcome to the Community. So if you are running more than one sprint  for the same project then you have Parallel Sprints enabled. If you are an admin You can check this here - settings > products > Jira software configuration. However if you simply have multiple sprints open that are associated with different projects that doesn’t require parallel sprints. Now I don’t know what you mean by website vs. app can you explain? With parallel sprints you should be able to create the, and start them from the project backlog.

Thanks for the reply. Well, I use the desktop app for Jira on my MacBook. But the app seems very limited in what it can do, in this case in relation to sprints. Although I can start a new one and drop tasks into them, there's no way I can see of actually starting them or even completing an active one. It appears that this functionality is restrcited to the website only, which seems strange.
