How can I specify which subtask to use when picking a specific issue type?

Katia Smiles December 23, 2022

I have created a new subtask type which has a specific workflow. I want this subtask type to only be available for a "Customer Request" issue type.

Is there a way to disable the normal "sub-task" type just for the "Customer Request" issue type so instead of having the choice of two sub-task's it defaults to the "CR sub-task" when I choose to create a "Customer Request" issue?

You can't do this yet.  All sub-task types in a project are available to be created under any issue type in the project, you can't limit the sub-task types by issue-type.

Thank you! Hopefully it might be a feature soon :)

@Katia Smiles

you can remove the default Sub-task from the issue type scheme and add your custom/newly created Subtask.

So I don't want to remove the default subtask altogether. Just for that one issue type.

So is it possible to run two schemes at once?

i.e. one for the customer request issue type and CR subtask and one for all other issue types and the default subtask?

@Katia Smiles removing the default Subtask will not completely remove it from the system. You can remove it from a Project's scheme and add a new subtask to the scheme.

You cannot run two schemes per project

Okay thank you for letting me know it can't be done!
