How can I select the template type for a given Software Project?

Deleted user June 20, 2018

I've just signed up to a new Jira account account - and have created my first project. When I set the project up, I was presented with just one Termplate option of 'Agility' with no other options available.

I now find that my ability to configure the project (e.g. the fields that appear at artefact level) is limited, and that the board is very 'lightweight' in its features (compared to my previous experiences of Jira). I'm wondering if it's to do with the template I used, but as I can't change the template I can't be sure.

I'm using the beta Cloud version.jira project.png

The template project types really are templates - used once during create to shape the project and then not touched again.

With most "templates", you can't change them afterwards because they're irrelevant after creation, but you can completely reconfigure a project to make it the same as if it had been created with a different template.

But not the agility template.  If you've used that, your project can't be amended.  You have to create a new project with the right template.
