How can I run multiple active sprints simultaneously in Jira?

Hi everyone,

Can anyone help me with rune multiple active sprints in Jira.

Is it possible to have multiple active sprints running simultaneously on the same Scrum board?

If yes, could someone please provide the step-by-step process to enable and manage parallel sprints? It would be helpful if you could also mention any prerequisites, required permissions, or settings that need to be configured.

It is only available for Company-managed space, and your Jira admin is required to enable the parallel sprint with the steps as stated in the following document:

Hi Dvipa,

Yes, it's possible to run multiple active sprints on the same Scrum board in Jira Cloud.

A Jira Administrator must first enable Parallel sprints by going to Jira Settings → Products → Jira Software → Parallel sprints and turning it on.

After that, users with the Manage Sprints permission can create and start multiple active sprints on the same Scrum board.

Hi @kshridvipa7878

First at the project level it needs to assigned to an active sprint.

The way we do that is by using a custom query, we assign a unique label to each Jira that needs to be on this mega sprint board.

No. Parallel sprints are not project-specific or board-specific. They are enabled globally for the entire Jira site.
