How can I retrieve a deleted story?

I seem to have accidentally deleted a story while trying to delete one of its sub-tasks. It's a big one, and I need to get it back.

Nothing you can do unless you restore the Project from a backup into your JIRA instance and move it to the original project again.

Yep. Delete means... well... delete. You need to go find a backup, then I'd strongly recommend revising permissions and removing all "delete issue" rights
