How can I prevent Watchers?

I have an editable excel table that I want a group to contribute to. However, everytime they add something they automatically become Watchers of the page and then get bombarded with updates from everyone else. I want to prevent watchers to the page and just deleting them doesn't work as they get re-added to the Watcher list every time they contribute.

Hi Aruni,

Autowatch is actually an improvement in JIRA 5 series. However, you can disable it via the user profile in JIRA.
