How can I open up a Jira filter based on version in Basic search mode?

In the past, when clicking on the version in a ticket the navigator would open and could be switched between Basic and Advanced.  Now it opens in Advanced with queries like:

project = 10000 AND fixVersion = 12228 ORDER BY priority DESC, key ASC

WHYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY?  Using IDs in the JQL means I can't go back to Basic, which means I can't easily modify queries.  Is there a config change I can make to go back to the old behavior?

There are currently several open issues related to Basic search becoming disabled.

You may vote and watch any of them and, hopefully, Atlassian will fix it soon.
