How can I modify the left-panel of the Issue Navigator while in Detail View?

Is there a way to modify the fields that appear in the left-panel (appears when in Detail View) of the Issue Navigator?

It is not possible without modifying the JIRA core code. I wouldn't recommend that though!

I really wanted to see issue status in that left-panel. Oh well.

Switching to List view and adding it as a column is the best option for now.
