Hello @Krishnadas

Welcome to the Atlassian community.

Atlassian recommends using a third party app to accomplish that as mentioned in this document for v8.x

https://confluence.atlassian.com/adminjiraserver0818/migrating-projects-to-another-jira-instance-1167724774.html

(I have not yet found a comparable document for v10.)

In that documentation they recommend the Project Configurator from Appfire:

https://marketplace.atlassian.com/apps/1211147/project-configurator-for-jira?tab=overview

https://appfire.atlassian.net/wiki/spaces/PC/pages/197887676/Migrate+projects+from+one+instance+to+another

You might find other options/opinions in the other other posts about this same topic within this forum. Have you tried an internet search on this topic such as:

Hi @Krishnadas

If it is a one-time action you need to do and the project configuration is not very complicated, you could rebuild the configuration on the second instance (project, work types, screens, workflows, custom fields and boards) and export and reimport the work items via CSV.

If it is a ongoing task, you should check apps, like @Trudy P Claspill mentioned above.

Another option would be create a Jira backup file and do a system import on the other Jira instance. This will only work if the second instance is empty and it is allowed for you to import all projects and configurations. Afterwards you could delete all the other projects. The downside of this method is that all configurations, work items, attachments, etc. will come over and you maybe need to clean up the instance.

I hope this helps a little bit.

Best regards,

Vitali
