How can I make link to open in JIRA new version for mention notification in Dashboard

Anju Shrestha September 16, 2019

Hi everyone,

I would really appreciate your help on this:

When I click on mention notification in new JIRA dashboard, the page opens in old JIRA view. Is there anything I can change in Notification Settings or it is just a new issue introduced in new version of JIRA. I am not seeing this as an issue with other notifications.

Thank you in advance!

Hello Anju,

Welcome to Atlassian Community!

Could you please provide us a screenshot displaying your dashboard and what is the gadget you are clicking to open the issue in the Old Issue view?

I have tested with the Activity Stream, however, once I clicked the issue it opened in the New issue View:

That being said, can you please check if your profile is configured with the New issue view? To check this, click on your profile picture at the bottom-left corner of the application > Settings > Turn-on the New JIRA issue View:

We will be waiting for your answer to provide you more useful suggestions. :)

Hello Petter,

Thank you so much for your time looking into this in detail and responding. Now I am realizing I could have included screenshot to make it more clear. My profile is actually configured with New issue view.

I was actually referring to notifications in bell icon on left vertical menu bar when someone gets mentions in the comment. Please see screenshots below.

If I click on the link where I am mentioned then page opens in old JIRA view. FYI, I am seeing this happening only if someone mention me in the comment.

Please see screenshot how it actually opens after clicking on the link. I believe this is not view in new JIRA version.

Hope that helps to determine the issue. Please feel free to let me know if you have any other questions!

Hello Anju,

thank you for your detailed answer.

In fact, we were already aware of this behavior in JIRA and opened a task with our development team to get it fixed:

New issue view should appear when user gets a notification of being mentioned in a comment

Feel free to vote and watch the task to increase its priority and also receive notifications about any updates.

Let me know if you have any questions. :)
