How can I link Change requests to Epics?

I can link a story to an EPIC but not a change request - how can I configure this please?

Hi @Lydia Rogers 

You need to have the issue type (change request) present in your project or at least in any of the projects in Jira Software (If you want the Epic Child relationship)

If you are just looking at linking issues, you should be able to search the issue and just link

May I know if you are trying to link JSM Issue or Jira Software project issue to the Epic Issue?

Thank you - I have both issue types available in the project and am using Jira Software project issue to the Epic Issue. I can link a story but not a CR issue type.
