How can I hide the “Assigned” field in the list view for all users in Jira Cloud?

In Jira Cloud, I’d like to prevent users from seeing the “Assigned” field in the issue list view (or issue navigator).

Is there an option to hide this field globally for everyone, not just per user?

Hi Wamos - Welcome to the Atlassian Community!

If the users have access to the work item, why are you trying to hide that field? They can still get to the full work item.

Hi John,  I used the Personalize Validator User field instead, and I want to hide the Assignee field. I removed it from the screen, but it still appears in the list.

Hi @WAMOS

welcome to the community!

I think you might be running into this: JWMCLOUD-98 - the list view is currently "per user". You may want to watch and upvote the ticket.

Alternatively, if you're open to solutions from the Atlassian Marketplace, there are options available. I'll add more information below.

Hope this helps,

Best,

Hannes

... and just to expand on the last point: If you're looking for an immediate resolution and are open to solutions from the Atlassian Marketplace, you may want to have a look at the app that my team and I are working on: JXL for Jira.

JXL is a full-fledged spreadsheet/table view for your work items (issues) that allows viewing, inline-editing, sorting, and filtering by all your work item fields, much like you’d do in e.g. Excel, Google Sheets, Airtable, or Smartsheet. It also comes with a long list of advanced features - including support for (configurable) work item hierarchieswork item grouping by any work item field(s), sum-ups, or conditional formatting - and works across any number of projects.

Of course, you have full control over which fields to show in your sheet. Plus, any changes that you make to your view are, by default, shared with all your team members.

This is how it looks in action:

Any questions just let me know!

@WAMOS

Below is my suggesstion

Hiding a field using a Field Configuration is typically used to hide it from the issue view and edit screens, not primarily from the Issue Navigator column list. However, completely hiding a system field like Assignee via Field Configuration can have wide-ranging effects on workflows and other Jira functionalities and is generally not recommended just to remove a column. The system default columns is the correct place to manage the list view column
