In old UI I could at least open the Create Issue form in the new tab. In the new UI it's not possible anymore, Create Issue form shows up only as a modal dialog. The underlying page remains open and I have about 5s to click a little popup. If you didn't manage or got distracted - have to look for the issue somewhere else which is usually like 3-5 extra clicks, especially if you were navigating the board when you decided to make an issue. In my opinion that's not a very good user experience.
@Ivan Filimonov- If you feel that popup that show after creating issue too quickly disappear and you cannot quickly navigate to the new issue I agree with you however for me this is used more like a confirmation that issue was created successfully.
I always find recently viewed/created/updated issues under Issues > RECENT ISSUES section. That is only one click and second to open the ticket. If you create many issues and view them later you can also spend time once and create your own JIRA dashboard with couple of gadgets that would show you want you are (for example recently created issues). Thanks to that you would have your view on JIRA. You can always have dashboard open on one of your tabs and have quick access to all changes without even a click (if you set an auto refresh).
And another quick way (if you use JIRA Software) you can also use Boards to have issues on the Backlog automatically without even seeing any popup. Just create an issue and after closing the popup it will show on the list. Voilà! ;)
When you're browsing a board on new UI Issues menu isn't even visible, is it? So you have to leave your dashboard
The point of it is that i want to navigate to the issue straight away in absolutely most cases, cause not all things are available on create dialog (say, time estimates, links). Even if they were - it's quite possible that you just forgot to file them after you hit create button. I have a difficulties finding things if I left assignee empty, for some reason.
I agree that in some circumstances one might want to keep their board (or whatever is currently on the screen) open, but in absolutely most of them (for me) - that's not the case. And if I wanted to keep them open I could just use new browser tab for the new issue. I don't think using modal dialog + popup for that is in any way justified.
