How can I force all fields to show when creating a new issue?

Hey! I've noticed a change today when creating a new issue from the +Create button, it only shows the TITLE and DESCRIPTION fields unless I click the expand icon in the top right... this is really not great to have to extra click to show fields needed to be filled and I miss the old version.

Does anyone know if there's a way to rollback this change or at least force fields to be show when clicking the +Create by default?

I've already selected to disable unhide unused fields and still have to expand to see everything. Screenshot 2026-05-07 151238.png

Hi Catherine! This is a known change Atlassian rolled out to the new issue create experience in Jira Cloud — the "simplified" create form now only shows Title and Description by default to reduce friction.

Unfortunately, there is currently no admin-level setting to force all fields to show by default in the new create dialog. However, here are a few workarounds:

1. **Click the expand icon (↗)** in the top-right corner of the create dialog — this opens the full-screen issue create view with all fields visible.

2. **Pin fields**: In the full create view, you can pin specific fields so they always appear in the simplified dialog. Click the "Pin to top" option (📌) next to each field you want to always be visible.

3. **Use issue templates** (if you have a marketplace app like Jira Misc Workflow Extensions or Issue Checklist) to pre-fill fields.

4. **Vote/watch this feature request** on the Atlassian Community or Jira Cloud suggestions board — community feedback helps prioritize improvements.

Hope this helps! Let me know if you need more detail on any of these options.

Not at all surprised -- everything we've used for years is now hidden behind multiple clicks to achieve the same basic function.

It's getting very annoying.
