Hi, Friends

I found one difficulty with cloning projects

I have many similar projects, I need to transfer them all to Jira, but these must be separate projects

In all parameters (workflow, columns) they are identical, the only differences are in the data filling

Can I clone my project and its settings? Is it even possible?

If not, what is the best way to transfer settings from an already completed project?

Hi @Viacheslav Ch and welcome to the community!

Duplicating or cloning a project in Jira can be a bit tricky, as Jira does not have a built-in feature to directly clone a project with all its settings. However, there are a few ways you can achieve your goal:

Using Marketplace Apps

One of the most efficient ways to duplicate a project, including workflows, schemes, and settings, is by using a marketplace app like our Deep Clone for Jira. Deep Clone allows you to easily clone an entire project with all its configurations, saving you significant time and effort. Here's how you can use it:

  1. Install Deep Clone: Navigate to the Atlassian Marketplace, find Deep Clone for Jira, and install it on your Jira instance.
  2. Clone Your Project: Use the app to select the project you want to clone and follow the prompts to duplicate it. The app will replicate all settings, workflows, and schemes, but you can customize what specific elements you want to clone. You can also decide to copy the schemes instead of just associating the new project to the scheme of the old one.

Manual Cloning

If you prefer not to use an app, you can manually recreate the project settings:

  1. Create a New Project: Go to Jira and create a new project using the same project template as your original project. You can also make the new project share the schemes of the old project on creation.
  2. Copy Schemes: Manually associate the new project with the same schemes (workflow, issue type, screen, field configuration, etc.) used by the original project.
  3. Adjust Workflows and Screens: Ensure that the new project uses the same workflows and screens by editing these settings to match the original project.

Hi

Welcome to the community

When you create a new project you can use the "shared configuration" option to use the same configuration used by the existing project into the new one.
