How can I create a query that returns the stories of Epics based on their labels and components?

I am using labels and components to categorize Epics and i want to create a kanban board for this where the swimlanes are the stories.

The epics are identified by issue type, component, and label.

I can find no way to create a query that gets me the stories.

  • No I don't have Scriptrunner here.
  • No, I'm not an Admin on this instance.
  • I have Tempo timesheets, but tempoEpicIssues requires specific keys

Without a third party app you will not be able to get the child stories for the Epics unless they have the same labels and components that you would use to filter the Epics. Jira doesn't natively have the capability to do the filter with the conditions you have described otherwise.

The concept of nested queries would help you, but that also is not yet supported.

There is a change request for nested queries, but it hasn't been addressed yet.
