@[deleted] Under Project Settings -> People, see if there is an option to change the role of a person to Project Lead.
See this documentation, if it helps: https://confluence.atlassian.com/jirasoftwarecloud/add-people-to-next-gen-projects-949233752.html
@Taranjeet SinghUnder Project Settings -> People, I only get the option to set the role as viewer, member or administrator. And even setting a person as administrator and myself leaving the project, I am still appearing as the lead.

@[deleted] Can you share the Project Settings -> People screen for your project?

@[deleted] Currently, there is no such functionality available in next-gen project to change Project Lead. I think there are only 3 possible roles in a next-gen project:
- Viewer
- Member
- Administrator
A next-gen project must have atleast one Administrator, so if you want to change Administrator, you must first made another person as Administrator, before you can leave the project.
You may contact Atlassian Support to know if any such functionality to change a project lead is on their roadmap or not.
