How can I change a filter created by another user?

We have an Agile board that was created by another user. I need to adjust the filter, but it says I cannot change a filter created by another user. This is problematic as he is no longer the board ownder. I am an administrator, so can you tell me how I can change the filter?

You can now change the ownsership of shared filters. See https://confluence.atlassian.com/display/JIRA/Managing+Shared+Filters#ManagingSharedFilters-ChangingtheOwnershipofaSharedFilter
