We have an old component we would like to remove but not delete for historical reasons.

Hi Nizan,

I do not believe that functionality is available in Jira Cloud. Seems to be a viable option for Server version, but not Cloud.

So you can either edit the name with something like "DO NOT USE - name" or something similar. Or you can delete.

Hi @Nizan Freedman

There are also two older suggestions to add archiving for components, however the responses from product management seem to indicate they are not planning on adding the feature.  Still, you can take a look and vote for them if you are interested in watching their progress:

Bill
