How can I add quick filters to the Releases page of an Agile Board?

JIRA 7.2 supports the following native quick filters on an Agile Board's "Releases" page, "Released", "Unreleased", and "Archived". What I would specifically like to do is modify or add a filter to sort the Releases by "Release date" or at least "Version" name.

I have not found any post or documentation that supports this capability and I am hoping you guys can prove me wrong and that this is possible. Thanks in advance.

No API. The only way is to hack jira ;)

We've done something similar on the board and backlog screens.
