How can I add fields to a ticket?

Laura Pilath May 18, 2020

Dear all,

I created a scrum board and I want to create Versions and Epics. I want to add specuific Epics to specific Versions and specific tickets to specific EPICS and Verions.

However, I cannot find the Option to add those fileds to the tickets or the possibility to create Aversion (Release).

Could you please help.

Thanks, Laura

Hello @Laura Pilath

Welcome to the Atlassian Community!

Per your description, I understand you are not being able to add fields to issues and create versions in your projects. Please, allow me to ask you some questions and provide you with some concepts so we can better confirm we are on the same page:

Can you confirm if you are using a Next-gen or Classic project?

The templates mentioned above have different ways to add fields and create versions. More specifically:

In Next-gen projects, you can add fields to your issues by navigating to Project settings > Issue types > Drag and drop the fields as you need:

In Classic projects, you can add fields to your issues by navigating to Project settings > Screens > Add the field to the screens you want (Created, edit and view). Then, organize them on the screen under project settings > Issue layout.

About the Release functionality, you can create new versions under the releases menu at the left menu, for both classic and next-gen:

However, for Next-gen projects, you must turn the releases feature on under Project settings > Features.
