What we do is we created a custom field called Estimate (hours) and associated it with the field scheme for that issue type. At the start of a project we input the estimate for the task and then log the work in the ticket using the option in the ... dropdown. At the end of the project we see what exceeded the estimated time and adjust our scopes accordingly.

I'm new in JIRA software. I would like to add estimated time to an issue. I used to plan the time of a project in Microsof Project, but I'm trying to do it in Jira. I would like to do the plan and add estimated time in order to compare the real time execution after the plan. How can I do that in Jira?
