How can I add a cutom field that is a component picker allowing the selection of only one component?

The use the of "Component/s" field is extremely valuable but we would like to be able to identify one of the components to be the "main" one. I have figured that a way to do that would be to have a custom field that is a component picker but allows the selection of only one component.

I have tried many different types of custom fields but found none that seem to be configurable as a component picker.

You can't achieve this without some hacks in the code. Unfortunately, that is not possible in JIRA onDemand!
