Hi,

the story point estimate field is available on each ticket however this field is not used in the velocity report. How is the story points field configured in each ticket so that a velocity report can be produced please?

Hi @petermacmahon

The Velocity Report is specific to a board.

------------

If this is Next-Gen:

  • The Velocity Report defaults to issue count if "Estimation" has not been enabled in the project's settings. Once enabled, it will default to using story points
  • To enable Estimation - go to Project Settings > Features, and toggle it to ON
  • The field in Next-Gen is called "Story Points Estimate"

------------

If this is a Classic Board:

It's most likely to be the Estimation statistic chosen for that board. You can check what the current statistic is by going to the Velocity Report and looking what field is named on the vertical axis.

If it isn't Story Points, you can modify this as a Board Admin:

  1. On the board, go to the breadcrumbs (3-dots icon in top-right) and select Board Settings
  2. On the left-hand menu select Estimation
  3. Change the Estimation Statistic to "Story Points"

------------

If there are any anomalies with the above suggestions, please let us know so we can assist further :)
