Jira 7.13.2.

I have some weird issue in jira. I have almost 500 issues that are not assigned to any issue type. Not sure which issue type for those issues. I would like to either delete all of them or assign to any existing issue type that are available for project.

Due to unassigned issue type I am unable to add another issue type to the project.

I am receiving the below error when I click on issue to view from "Issue Navigator"

"ABC-xxx can not be opened. The issue may have been deleted or you might not have permission to see the issue. "

Can anyone know how to delete these issues or assign any issue type from backend?

Thanks,

Om

Have you tried re-indexing? Do you know if anyone used a tool to update the database directly? Is there a backup of before this started happening?

Hi @Joe Pitt , Thanks for the response on my post. Actually I did re-index of project and jira instance as well but luck.

I see issue type assigned null for those issues so I updated the issue type number and then did the reindex. That works fine. Anyway this happened in DEV instance so I deleted all thos issues after I assign issuetype number. Looks good now.

Thanks,

Om
