How Does Your Team Execute Manual Tests in Xray?

Hi everyone,

I'd like to understand how teams actually execute manual tests in Xray.

One thing I'm struggling with is the execution workflow.

It feels cumbersome to change every Test Run to Executing, perform the testing outside Xray, then come back to Xray just to stop the timer and update the execution status.

I'm curious how your teams handle this.

  • Do you actually use the Executing status?
  • Do you use the execution timer?
  • Do testers keep Xray open while testing?
  • Or do they simply perform the test and update the results afterward?
  • Have you customized this workflow to make it more efficient?

I'd love to hear what has worked well for your teams.

Thanks!

Hi @Lena Wong

My best recommendation will be to attend Xray webinars. They have them once a week.

You will get to learn a lot.

I noticed that all your questions are about Xray that is the reason I am recommending their webinars. Also they have a pretty strong documentation.

All the best,

Fadoua

Hi @Tinker Fadoua , thanks for the hint, but I am looking for best practices recommendations. I guess I will have just to see what is the best here for us to make our work life easier. We are a team of non-developers. When do the webinars take place and how to access to them?.

The webinars are not technical. Actually they help you to better understand the app and how to use it.

Let me get you the info from the vendor tomorrow.

Best,

Fadoua
