Hide the 'Create Sub-Task' button

is it possible to hide the 'Create Sub-Task' button?

It will vanish if you remove all the sub-task types from the project's issue type scheme.

Thank you very much for the quick answer. However, in my project I need the Issue Type: Sub-Task.

I have two different types of tasks in the project, each existing as a standard issue type 1) Tasks that contain sub-tasks 2) Tasks that do not contain sub-tasks. For 2), I want to prevent sub-tasks from being created and therefore hide the 'Create Sub-Task' button.

Either you have sub-tasks enabled, or you do not.  You can't hide the create option arbitrarily, Jira can't know when you think it's valid or not (and doesn't support it anyway)
