Hide Create Subtask screen

We subtask a lot in meetings and our subtasks only have required values of Project, issue type, reporter, and summary - all of which are added when we do the quick create function on a story ticket. Been working great for years.

However, about a month ago, hitting create on a subtask started opening up the create issue model, instead of just creating the subtask. This is a huge pain in the butt, especially when I'm trying to work quickly on a call.

how do i turn it off? I just want the old workflow back

Hi Julia - Welcome to the Atlassian Community!

Did you make any of these fields required? And if so, how?

The only required fields are:

  • project
  • reporter
  • summary
  • issue type

but those are just the default required fields across the board and have been for years now.

Okay, thanks. If you didn't add them, it is strange that they now require the pop-up. You might want to open a support ticket with Atlassian to find out why.

This has nothing to do with the original question.

Yeah, thank you for the input but the issue you linked is completely unrelated to my question. 🙂
