To execute Lean projects in Jira, we are thinking of creating Epic template. Every Lean project will have a set of stories that need to be worked on. The stories are same for every project and there could be new stories added apart from the repeating stories based on the need.
What we want to achieve is, when an Epic is created for a Lean project, automatically create the set of stories under it. If a new story is required for this Epic, it will be created manually.
Is there an out of the box method in Jira for creating templates? Thanks!

Unfortunately, I believe JIRA does not have an inbuilt functionality to automatically create issues when a simple one with a specific type is created, however, I'm aware of some plugins that you can use to perform it.
My recommendation would be to use Automation for JIRA plugin (300 free executions per month) where you can create a simple rule like the one below:
