Help us make Jira’s keyboard shortcuts feel like a superpower

Hi everyone,

I’m a Product Manager on the Jira Cloud team currently looking into our keyboard shortcut experience.

Based on recent feedback, we recognize that keyboard shortcut coverage is inconsistent across Jira and often feels secondary to mouse-based navigation. We are working to improve this and want to ensure the next iteration of shortcuts actually meets your workflow needs.

I am looking to speak with both power users and those who find the current shortcuts difficult to use.

I’m hosting 30-minute feedback sessions to discuss:

  • Critical gaps in shortcut coverage (actions that currently require a mouse).

  • Common pain points

  • Proposed ideas for a more unified navigation experience.

If you’re interested in sharing your perspective, please book a session here: Zoom Link

Hi @Ahmud Auleear

I recommend starting with the feedback / concerns already provided, reviewing those, and using them in support of any new information from the Zoom sessions.  The existing information may help a prevent problem of only higher-license level customers' input (i.e., Premium and Enterprise) being used to change product features...as if it was representative of all customers.

The existing feedback / concerns may be found by:

  • examine questions in the various product areas (e.g., Jira, Confluence, etc.) in this community, and any subsequent customer comments
  • examine articles in those same areas which elaborated on shortcut usage
  • examine marketplace apps created by vendors to mitigate existing shortcut feature gaps
  • review open and closed with "won't do" resolution suggestions and defects in the JAC public backlogs

Thank you, and kind regards,
Bill
