Having trouble adding initiatives in advanced roadmaps.

When creating my advanced roadmap im having an issue adding in initiatives. I want to link multiple epics from different projects under one initiative but my roadmap isn't giving me that option. I have even created a board of initiatives to add to my advanced roadmap but it wont allow me to place my epics under that initiative either.
