Has the ability to drag tickets up and down a pipeline to reorder them been removed?

Clare King August 9, 2023

Hi,

Since the rollout of the functionality for moving tickets from one pipeline to another pipeline's status, I notice that I can't just move tickets up and down within the same pipeline.  I've tried removing all ranking specifications from the board query/settings but I still can't reorder the tickets.  I am an admin and I'm using a scrum board.

Thanks in advance for any help you can give me!

Welcome to the Atlassian Community!

I assume by "pipeline", you mean a backlog, or a column in a board?

I'm confused because Jira doesn't have pipelines, and even if my guess as to what you mean by it is correct, you've always been able to move between columns.

"I've tried removing all ranking specifications from the board query" - that's most likely to be the problem.  For ranking to work, the query must "order by rank" and only by rank

Hi Nic,

I mean moving my tickets up and down in a column.  Let's say I have a number of high priority tickets in the TO DO column but I want to put one above the other so the developer completes that one first...

It used to work. I did wonder if there was something going on with the ranking so removed it to try moving the tickets about but didnt work either with or without ranking in my board query.
