Grouping reset back to Stories in Active Sprint view

Jira behavior has changed recently. Earlier, when I reloaded the page with Jira Active Sprint view open the selected grouping didn't change (and did show grouping by "Assignee"). Now, every time I reload or refresh the page the grouping setting is set back to "Stories".

So they changed this grouping preference from being user specific pr. board to now be board controlled.

If you go to board settings -> swimlanes -> select method you can pick a desired grouping for the board. 
However this does force everyone in the board to have this preference which i still don't like

Do we know whether this was an intentional change by Atlassian to override individual user Group By setting with the option selected in Board Settings?

One of my users reported this issue earlier this week, where refreshing the Active sprint view reverts them to the board setting and he has to change it back each time. He says every once in a while it will retain his setting, but the majority of the time it does not.

Yes, the same behaviour is on my side, I think, there was a global change on Atlassian side.
