Hi Guys! I have these questions. I'm new to Jira and I've Jira Admin access. I could use expert advice.
1. What's the difference between Group and Teams in Jira cloud software?
2. What is the best practice for using groups and teams?
A little background: I'm a technical project manager from a rapidly growing startup. Mainly have Software Product Development & IT Services. SE product development team works independently.
For services, have two teams SEO & web development. And UI/UX designer works with all the teams.
@Oshadhi Vindhyani , the easiest way to think about Groups vs Teams is that Groups are considered an admin feature where Teams are more a, well, teams feature.
Groups are used to grant access to applications and projects. Generally few users have the ability to customise groups. In larger organisations, groups are connected to LDAP and populated based on organisational structures.
Teams can be generated by anyone and are more fluid. They allow you to pull together activity from different members and share important information on the team page.
Hope this helps.
Thank you so much. At the end you mentioned about team page. What is it ? Where can find the team page? Is it related to an atlas or confluence?

This would be so much better if you could use Teams to filter what appears on a board to show you all tasks assigned to members of your team. Instead It will only show tasks assigned to the Team which means critical sub-tasks could be hidden.
