Gitlab repository connection error

Those new to the Atlassian Community have posted less than three times. Give them a warm welcome!
I am facing difficulties adding a new GitLab repository to my project. I am attempting to add it through the GitLab.com app for Jira Cloud. The group and project appear in the search, but when I click to add, I receive a connection failure message.
I have tried re-authenticating with GitLab, but the error persists.
