Github for Jira, smart commit not working, backfill fails on a single repository

Those new to the Atlassian Community have posted less than three times. Give them a warm welcome!
I am getting the below error on a single github repository. Smart commits also stopped working for this repository.
I tried removing the github app and reconnecting, nothing changed. This started occuring today for some reason. Any thoughts on where to look? The github app says it has full permissions.
