Getting user email in the extension

Hi 

I need to integrate our istance of Jira Cloud with some external system, for this I need the email address of currently logged user.

It seems that when a Jira extension runs /rest/api/3/user?accountId=2374932747329, the email address is not present. Is it possible to switch off that behaviour in the site settings?
