Hello @Roy Kim

@Himanshu Tiwary  and @Himanshu Tiwary provided You already solid advice.
If your account is managed, you should see that information in your profile settings. If that is the case, your admin should take care of it.
If not, then your admin is correct, and you need to contact Atlassian Support.

Hi @Roy Kim

Full name is controlled at the account level (id.atlassian.com) and not at the product level or by your site admin. Therefore, even site admin does not have the option to edit the profile name of another user.

You can try this:

Go to your Atlassian account -> Profile

Check if the Full name field is editable

If it’s locked and not updating, you’ll need to raise a request with Atlassian Support for corrections.

Hello @Roy Kim

Welcome to the Atlassian community.

If the Atlassian cloud environment is telling you that you need to contact your admin that means that your account is "managed" and linked via your email to an external identity provider. In such a case your name needs to be updated in the external identity provider and that information resynchronized to your company's Atlassian Cloud Organization.

Atlassian support cannot do that for you. It must be done by the people managing your Atlassian Cloud Organization.

Here we are a user community, using our own Atlassian product subscriptions, so we also cannot make that change for you.

Did you admins say why they believe you need to contact Atlassian support, rather than the admins handling the change?

If your admins still insist that Atlassian Support needs to be contacted you might suggest that they engage here with the Atlassian community where we can ask them questions about your Atlassian Cloud ecosystem and advise them, or they can reach out to Atlassian Support themselves.
