Formula Field Missing

I was excited to find out that we can use a formula for our fields, but my admin is not finding the formula option in the "create new field." He will search for it, and nothing generates. We have the premium version of Jira. Is this option hidden or do we need to contact someone to access this field?

Your Jira, Product or Org admin 1st needs to go to the System settings in Jira and enable the toggle for Formula fields in the Beta features section.

This is just beneath the "General settings" option.

Then fields of type formula can be created.

My admin just looked and we do not have any available beta features for our organization.

It has been a gradual roll-out but it should be completed by now.

You can ask your admin if you are on the Bundled or Continous release track. It could be that you are on the bundled track which gives the admin more control over when things are rolled-out.

Check under Adminsitration ->Platform Experience -> Release management -> Release tracks

What kind of subscription do you have, the tag you added shows Premium.

Are you on a free instance, then there are not Beat option and you can't sue the formula field option.

it is possible it is not released yet to your site. 

I recommend to check Release management -> App updates in your Atlassian organization for formula fields.
