Forge Custom UI custom field does not render in workflow transition screen and fallsback to textbox

We have implemented a Forge custom field using Custom UI in Jira Cloud. The custom field renders correctly in the following locations:

• Issue View Screen
• Issue Create Screen
• Issue Edit Screen

However, when the same field is added to a Workflow Transition Screen, the Custom UI component does not load. Instead, Jira displays the default textbox renderer.


Expected Behavior:
The Forge Custom UI component should render consistently in the workflow transition screen, similar to issue create/edit/view screens.
Actual Behavior:
During workflow transition, the field falls back to a plain textbox instead of loading the configured Custom UI renderer.


Environment:

• Jira Cloud
• Forge App
• Custom Field with Custom UI / render:native configuration

Additional Details:

• The custom field is properly added to the transition screen.
• Screen schemes and issue type screen schemes are configured correctly.
• The issue view and edit pages load the Custom UI successfully.
• The issue only occurs specifically in workflow transition dialogs/screens.

Request:
Please confirm whether Forge Custom UI custom fields are officially supported in Jira workflow transition screens. If supported, please advise how to correctly enable/render the Custom UI component during transitions.

Have you tried the transition new experience? Only in this context does our custom forge app field (Issue Pickers) work correctly, as on the other screens.
