Hi all,
I'm studying for the ACP-620 exam and wanted to know if you can actaully use quick filters in some reports (Jira Sfotware for Cloud). My practice test says yes, but the Atlassian AI says no.
Yes, you can use Quick Filters on boards in Jira Software Cloud, but they do not affect standard Jira reports.
Details:
What Quick Filters do
Quick Filters temporarily filter the issues visible on a board based on a JQL query you define.
They do not change the board’s underlying filter, which defines which issues belong to the board.
Applying a Quick Filter only changes your personal view; the issues considered by the board and reports remain based on the board’s filter and any sub-filter.
ACP‑620 exam context
Quick Filters are toggles that a user activates for their view and do not permanently affect reports.
For persistent filtering that affects reports or all users, you should use a Board Sub-Filter instead of Quick Filters.
Limitations / Known behavior
Some reports, like the Cumulative Flow Diagram, do not fully respect Quick Filters.
Quick Filters may not appear for all users depending on permissions or board type.
Conclusion (exam & practice):
I am currently studying for the ACP‑620 exam as well, and based on my research and practice:
Quick Filters change only the board view temporarily.
Reports rely on the board filter/sub-filter, not Quick Filters.
Sub-Filters or adjustments to the board filter are needed for persistent filtering affecting reports or all users.
Hi @Carolina Castro ,
You are correct. Quick filters can not be used in Reports withing a Project (Space). They can only be use on a board view, though.
I guess the Atlassian AI takes "Report" as a broad term, without context of ACP-620, that is why it give the strange answer here.
Regards,
Rustem
