Fix Version will not display on project

I have a test project that I use to test workflow updates.

It is a jira-software project.

I am the space owner AND admin on the project.

can not get Fix Version to display on an issue. I can not get it to display in a workflow transition screen. I can not get it to function!

What I've done:

- There is at least one release/version on this project

- Field is associated to the various screens

- I did the field configuration to make sure it is not in the "Hide when Empty"

- Field is configured to be on the "Done" screen during a workflow transition, in case I needed to set it at that transition, but it does not appear on the actual screen itself (which means, since its a required field in the workflow, I can't actually transition an item to "Done" anymore)

- In List view, I added it as a column, which finally displayed it. I set the fix version there. Upon closing out of the field, it displayed the version for a second, then the field goes empty again.

- On the Issue view, I did the "Find your field" and I get checkmarks for every step. It says it should be there. It is not there.

- I confirmed I do not have any local CSS running to hide it.

I'm confused and out of troubleshooting steps! Anything I missed?

I figured it out, and its really embarrasing :)

While I was the administrator, Adminstrators did not, by default, have the ability to close a ticket. And therefore, I was unable to view the Fix Version.
Once I gave myself a role that alllowed closing a ticket, boom. there it was

Hello @Louise Baker

Do you have any third party apps installed on your Jira instance?

Some apps can affect which fields are displayed in screen, causing them to be hidden, such as the Scriptrunner Behaviours app from Adaptavist.

You said

- In List view, I added it as a column, which finally displayed it. I set the fix version there. Upon closing out of the field, it displayed the version for a second, then the field goes empty again.

Do you have automation rules running that may be clearing the field? In the item details view you can expand and refresh the Automation panel to see automation rules that have recently been triggered by something in that issue.

Alternately you can go to the System > Global Automation > Audit Log to see the audit logs for all rules that have executed across the instance and review those for around the time you tried to set the Fix Version/s field to see if one of those cleared the field.

Have you checked the Details, More Fields, and Pinned Fields panels shown above the Automation panel?

Do you have fields organized into Tabs in the Description Fields section of your Layout?

Can you show us a screen image of the transition screen configuration?

Can you show us the diagram for your workflow? Do you perhaps have more than one transition to "Done" and the one you are executing doesn't have the screen associated to it?
