Filtering by worklogAuthor in JIRA Cloud (Timesheet Reports and Gadgets / Timesheets)

Anita Domańska May 12, 2021

Hello Community,

On JIRA cloud we are booking time spent via Tempo. As Tempo doesn't allow to create nice pie charts reports or even shared/online reports and has poor libriary of Dashboard gadgets, we started to use JIRA Timesheet Reports and Gadgets Plugin.

I would like to filter results by worklogAuthor, first creating the Jira Filter and then using it inside of the Gadget or using directly gadget and filtering results by worklogAuthor.

Is there any way of doing it?

Expected end results:

Time report of user1 + user2 + user3 from Month X in the Jira Dashboards.

Hi @Anita Domańska ,

when logging time in Tempo, information about it is synced to JIRA, but the worklog owner is anonymized to "Tempo Timesheets" (see also https://tempo-io.atlassian.net/wiki/spaces/KB/pages/488931333/Why+do+the+worklogs+appear+with+the+author+Tempo+Timesheets+instead+of+the+user+s+name).

Therefore it is not possible to use the worklogAuthor() option to create sql filters, as JIRA does not have this information.

Thank you @Susanne Götz _Tempo_  - this information is very helpful. Do you know any other way - plugin for reports/Dashboards or additional plugin for Tempo that allows to create such advanced reports (Pie Charts)?

You might want to try the Tempo Workload distribution gadget, this gadget offers the option to create a pie chart view.

Hi Anita,

Assuming you're asking about Jira Server. It should be possible to specify several users, separated by coma, in Worked Time Chart or in any other dashboard gadget from Timesheet Reports and Gadgets. You don't need Jira filter, plugin will search for worklogs by the specified users only, and then load corresponding issues.

Thank you.

Sorry, did not notice it, then it's just should be possible to select multiple users in gadget options. Please see https://primetimesheet.atlassian.net/wiki/spaces/KB/blog/2020/03/19/1003094017/Tempo+integration+for+Timesheet+Reports+and+Gadgets+only also for integration with Tempo.
