Filter- or board-sourced issues not appearing in Portfolio plan

This question is in reference to Atlassian Documentation: Configuring the scope view

What is the status of your fix for "We're working on a solution for this but for now the recommendation is use an agile board for your filter and initially create your issues there"? This is a severely limiting flaw - effectively limiting users' ability to create plans from 2 of the 3 advertised sources for Portfolio.

I am asking this question about work on the referenced page that Atlassian says is a known bug that it is working on. Should I expect to receive an answer?
