X = project = pt AND issuetype != epic AND (resolved is EMPTY OR resolved >= startOfWeek(-6))

issue in linkedIssues(X) OR X ORDER BY Rank ASC ....does not work

The below works, but obviously only for the one ticket, pt-2850.

(issue in linkedIssues("pt-2850")) OR (project = pt AND issuetype != epic AND (resolved is EMPTY OR resolved >= startOfWeek(-6))) ORDER BY Rank ASC

Is what I'm trying to do even possible in Jira?

I saw this question, but misunderstood it. The below link answers the question.
