Filter Epic List - Do not show Closed Epics?

I want to know if there is a way to stop displaying closed/done Epics in the Epic "picker" when I am creating a new JIRA ticket? We are having instances where people are picking old Epics that we do not use any longer.

I have confirmed that the closed Epics:

• The Status = Done
• The Resolution = Done
• The Resolved Date is present
• Do not show in the Epic Pane in the backlog
• Do not show in the Timeline view

I have asked 'Rovo' who replied that there is no way to do this, but not sure I trust that answer.  This seems like a straightforward feature that would be beneficial to most users.

Thanks for posting to Community!  This functionality to restrict completed Epics from the breadcrumb menu like you are are showing was requested under JRACLOUD-82800 , but due to lack of interest in the feature the request was closed.  

If this is functionality you are interested to have explored again I would be happy to create a new feature request on your behalf for this or you could create one yourself if you would prefer that route.  

The Parent Link field has the ability to filter completed Epics, but the breadcrumb menu as depicted within your screenshot does not at this time.

Thank you @Andy Rusnak - We use our Epics as "projects" so over the years this list can get rather large - thus my problem. I am shocked that more people are not interested in that functionality.

At least we are expecting a filter option that reflects for Epic Panel too.

For example : If we have multiple Sprints(mix of active and planned) on backlog, first a filter option to include Sprint and it should be applicable for Epic Panel as well.

Some projects we add Sprints for Epics too.

@Andy RusnakI would imagine that it should be automatically considered as part of just general usability design... This shouldn't be something you wait for "interest" in the feature. In most other platforms, if the Epic is closed, it should be closed; not showing up an entire list of all the Epics of all time.
