File dragged to subtask goes to parent task

It’s a strange behaviour that seems to occur only for one specific user in our company.
I’ve tried to reproduce it with my own account but haven’t been able to.

However, when I log in on my computer using that user’s credentials, the issue appears exactly as described.

As a workaround, we’re currently attaching the files in the comments.

Has anyone else experienced this?

Dear @Joan Andreu Juan Torrens ,

Thank you for reaching out.

We acknowledge that when a file is dragged to a subtask, it automatically moves to the parent task.

I want to inform you that our engineering team has identified the root cause of this issue, and a fix has been successfully deployed.

If the problem continues to occur, please don't hesitate to log a support ticket via support.atlassian.com.

Thank you!

Hi @Joan Andreu Juan Torrens , thanks for your post.

When you drag and drop an attachment on the subtask, does the file get uploaded to the subtask or for you, does it also get uploaded to the parent? The reason I ask is that perhaps the attachment field isn't enabled on the edit screen of the subtask.

Best wishes

Hi Valerie,

It works fine for me and for other users — we can all upload files to the subtask without any issue. However, one user in our company started experiencing this problem yesterday.

Until then, she was able to upload files to the subtask normally, just like the rest of us.
Since yesterday, though, files only upload correctly if she attaches them in a comment; otherwise, they go to the parent issue.
