Field fixVersions shows closed releases on creating or editing issues

Since a recent Jira update, the behavior of Jira has changed.

When we create a new ticket, the fixVersions field shows not only open versions but also closed versions in the selection box.

Does anyone know how to restore the previous behavior?

Jira has always let you select unreleased and released versions when editing an issue, nothing has changed.

You need to look at why someone has un-archived your versions.
