Field Configuration by Status

I have to define a field as mandatory in Status A, but should be read only in other Status.

How to do it?

A work around is if you have the jira suite utilities you can make it required on a transition screen and then only put it on the view screen for the project.

Setting the field as mandatory cannot be set per status. It can be defined per issue type and project.
